If
I Can Help Somebody, Inc. was enthusiastically preparing to honor a true hero in 2010. Unfortunately, Robert C Scott,III
MD passed away suddenly on October 8,2009. Our entire community remains in shock over this great loss to the SF-Bay area,
the country of Zimbabwe, Africa and the medical profession. Dr. Scott was highly regarded both nationally and internationally
for his work particularly in HIV/AIDS. He was also a father figure to AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe, a confidante to thousands
of patients, and a community role model. Dr Scott's brilliant career spanned 32 years. His abundant gifts, infectious enthusiasm
and warm smiles and hugs gave new life to persons devasted by the illness and the stigma which accompanied the diagnosis
of AIDS. In a day when health care is on the minds of many, this man was the true model of what it means to give extraordinary
care to every patient he served. May God rest the beautiful soul of this great Christian, humanitarian and benefactor whom
we were all very fortunate to know.
We will announce any plans about upcoming tributes, as soon as
the information is available.
